THE FUTURE OF WOMEN IN THE TECHNICAL FIELDS. May 14, 2002

A CONVERSATION WITH ANITA BORG, is scheduled for Friday May 17 at 11:30 am in Rangos Hall, the University Center. Dr. Borg, who will receive an honorary Carnegie Mellon doctorate at this year's commencement, will join us for a most special luncheon and presentation/panel discussion by faculty members Lenore Blum, Allan Fisher (Carnegie Technology Education), Cristina Amon (ICES/CIT) and Mary Shaw. Dr. Borg, whose honors exceed what can be offered in this small context, is recipient of the 2002 Heinz Award for Technology, the Economy and Employment and the Founder and President of the Institute for Women and Technology (http://www.iwt.org) . As an experimental research and development non-profit organization, the Institute focusses on increasing the impact of women on technology and the positive impact of technology on the world's women. Registration is required, so please contact cfrieze@cs.cmu.edu for specifics on the event.
